The MOC8106, MOC8107 and MOC8108 series of optically coupled isolators provides an alternative source of products meeting Motorola specifications.

The MOC8106, MOC8107 and MOC8108 series of optically coupled isolators is now available from Isocom Components Ltd., the leading UK optoelectronic specialist The series comprise an infrared light emitting diode and NPN silicon phototransistor in a standard 6-pin dual-in-line plastic package with the base pin unconnected for improved noise immunity in high EMI environments

The series provides an alternative source of products meeting Motorola specifications.

This MOC series is designed for use primarily in applications for d.c.

motor controllers, industrial systems controllers, and for signal transmission between systems of different potentials and impedances.

A feature of these isolators is the high isolation voltage, being 5.3kVr.m.s.

and 7.5kVpk.

Total power dissipation is 200mW, while the operating temperature is from -55Cto 100C.

The input diode has a forward current rating of 60mA, a reverse voltage of 6V and a power dissipation of 120mW.

For the output transistor, the collector-emitter voltage is 70V, the emitter-collector 7V and its power dissipation is 160mW.

The series can be obtained with 10mm lead spacing or formed for SMD mounting, as well as the standard DIP leadframe.
