The company's new G5C100-N-G Mini-ITX motherboard uses the Mobile Intel 945GM Express chipset supported under Intel's Embedded Architecture programme, and accepts a wide performance-range of Intel mPGA 479 packaged processors.

This includes the Intel Core Duo processor featuring dual-core architecture, Intel Core Solo processor, Intel Celeron M processor and Intel Celeron M ULV processor.

"Many of our customers require additional processing speed to support new product applications, but are constrained by thermal-limitations", said Robert Liao, Vice President, Itox Applied Computing.

The Intel Core Duo processor has enabled ITOX to address this market demand.

The new ITOX G5C100-N-G Mini-ITX motherboard, equipped with an Intel Core Duo processor, provides up to 50% higher performance over our current Intel Pentium M processor based motherboards.

If the application software has been written to take advantage of dual-core architecture, performance increases of up to 100% are possible, with no increase in power requirements".

Optimised for the Intel Core Duo processor featuring dual-core architecture, the G5C100-N-G motherboard retains full-compatibility with the Intel Celeron M processor.

Maximum performance is leveraged through the use of DDR2 533 or 667MHz dual-channel memory, dual onboard PCI-Express Gigabit Ethernet controllers and Intel GMA 950 graphics.

Intel Core Duo processors contain two execution units and one shared 2Mbyte L2 cache memory, which features Intel Smart Cache Design to further enhance performance.

This allows the processing units to operate in parallel, similar in performance to a dual-processor system, but with a lower power requirement.

In addition, the new G5C100-N-G Mini-ITX board is RoHS compliant and utilises the Intel 945GM Express chipset paired with an Intel ICH7M I/O controller hub.

A single mPGA 479 socket provides support for specified Intel processors with 667, 533 and 400MHz system bus speed.

The G5C100-N-G Mini-ITX form-factor (170 x 170mm) motherboard includes: one PCI Slot, two gigabit LAN ports, four serial COM ports, eight USB 2.0 ports, two PS/2 ports, one VGA port (2048 x 1536), an LVDS DFP interface (1600 x 1200), onboard 5.1 channel audio with S/PDIF out, two Serial ATA interfaces, one Ultra ATA 100 Interface, a CompactFlash Type II Socket, an FDD interface, and up to 4Gbyte of DDR2 533 or 667MHz dual-channel memory in two 200-pin SODIMM sockets.

Sample units of the ITOX G5C100-N-G product are available now, with production quantities available in Q4 2006.
