border

ITT Industries, Cannon's Chinese keypad business unit will provide equipment and technology, and its US-based operations will supply marketing support.
The facility will eventually employ approximately 300 people.
Mexican President Vincente Fox attended the dedication ceremony, and spoke positively of the global business and cultural relationship this endeavour represents.
This new facility reflects Cannon's focus on the customer and continued support of its leadership position in the keypad marketplace.
"The Matamoros facility is an excellent example of our strong commitment to investments in capabilities, new product development and customer service on a global basis", said Gerry Gendron, Senior Vice President of ITT Industries and President of Cannon.
"Many of our customers are establishing a greater presence in Mexico, plus Central and South America, and we intend to have the local capabilities they require".
This move is a true partnership of expertise and positions Cannon's keypad production closer to the customer.
Explains Rolando Gonzales, President of Siltech: "Mexico has a lot to offer technology companies.
Skilled labour and close proximity to a wide industrial customer base make locations like Matamoros perfect for high volume production.
The combined skills, resources and cultural aspects of this particular venture are especially exciting".
When ITT Industries acquired a China-based manufacturer of rubber keypads two years ago, it added significantly to its capacities and technical expertise while firmly positioning itself as the global market leader.
