The comprehensive ZD range of D-subminiature connectors has been created for cost-sensitive markets that demand a quality product at a very competitive price.

The range includes high-density Ds (HDDs) as well as a wide variety of standard-density products.

Explains Head of Product Management, Stan Evans: "Cannon invented the D-subminiature connector, and will continue to deliver premium product with turned pins and the highest plating levels, ensuring that demanding markets are well-served.

However, now, with the launch of the ZD series, Cannon is addressing price sensitive applications with a direct upgrade path to the established D performance range.

Although ZD connectors are available in the common plating and performance levels, we expect to see the largest demand for 50 cycle variants where users will enjoy the greatest cost/performance benefits".

ZD D subminiature connectors feature stamped contacts with a current carrying capacity of 5A and gold flash plating over the contact area.

Contact resistance is 20mohm on mated contacts, and devices have an operational temperature range of -55 to +105C.

Adds Evans: "ZD series connectors are an extremely cost-effective solution for many applications".

Standard-density ZD connectors are available in solder cup, crimp cable, IDC, straight and 90-degree PCB styles; high density devices are also available in the same styles.

A full range of accessories is also detailed in a new catalogue.
