ITT updates Trident T2P contact system
The Trident connector system from ITT Interconnect Solutions is targeted at engineers creating electronic designs for use in harsh environments.
The improved T2P contacts deliver a better degree of alignment, ensuring more secure mating, as well as easier assembly/disassembly.
The Trident connector system is targeted at engineers creating electronic designs for the harshest of environments.
This eliminates damaged contacts due to misalignment, therefore avoiding unnecessary contact replacement.
These stamped and formed contacts are available in either tin or gold plating (depending on the application requirements), and AWG14 to AWG26 wire sizes.
All have a current rating of up to 16A and are capable of exceeding 200 mating cycles.
In sealed system designs (using the Neptune sub-series), where contacts occasionally need replacement, the improved design prevents any damage being sustained to the grommet on removal/insertion.
The connectors are now suitable for an even broader range of application areas.
These include vehicle dashboards, air conditioning/cooling systems, junction boxes, robotic systems, automotive power train infrastructure and camera equipment.
