Budget chip meets ITSO smart ticketing standard

Innovision Research and Technology has partnered with BemroseBooth to develop the world's lowest-cost RFID smart ticketing chip.

Innovision Research and Technology has partnered with BemroseBooth to develop the world's lowest-cost RFID smart ticketing chip.

Jewel is one of the products included in the new ITSO (Integrated Transport Smartcard Organisation) version 2.1 standard for low-cost RFID schemes in UK mass transit.

With a silicon size approximately 30% smaller than its nearest competitor, Jewel is the lowest cost device of its type on the market.

Adherence to both the ITSO and ISO14443A standards ensures its compatibility with existing and future mass transit fare collection systems.

Innovision R and T chose to work with BemroseBooth in the development of Jewel to ensure ease of manufacture and suitability for the lowest cost ticket types.
