Five keynotes for semiconductor forum

The FSA and IEE have revealed the keynote speakers for the 2006 IEE/FSA International Semiconductor Executive Forum.

The FSA and IEE have revealed the keynote speakers for the 2006 IEE/FSA International Semiconductor Executive Forum.

The event will take place on 9th and 10th May 2006 at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich, Germany.

The third annual forum will thematically focus on communications, consumer electronics, supply chain, venture capital funding, as well as an overview of the semiconductor market.

The following five keynote speakers will be featured at the forum.

Scott McGregor, President, CEO and member of the Board of Directors for Broadcom Corporation, will present "The fabless CMOS future".

Loic Lietar, Group Vice President, Strategies and System Technologies at STMicroelectronics, will discuss "The journey of convergence and its consequences on the semiconductor industry".

Dr Erk Thorsten Heyen, Corporate Vice President, Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions for Infineon Technologies, will examine "IDMs: how can they have the best of both worlds; strong in-house technology competencies and lean cost structures like fabless companies?".

Hermann Hauser, cofounder of Amadeus Capital Partners, will present "Plastic electronics - the next big thing?".

And Dr Tien Wu, COO, ASE Group, will focus on "Symbiosis in the consumer world".

In addition to the five keynote sessions, the agenda will feature nine presentations and three panel discussions from industry leaders over a two-day period.

On 9th May, Sir Robin Saxby, Chairman of ARM Holdings, will host a VIP conference dinner for delegates.

Dr Milne is a member of FSA's EU Leadership Council and European Advisory Board and will be a speaker at the forum.

In tandem with the Forum, FSA will host its third Suppliers Expo Europe, a complimentary exhibition providing European semiconductor professionals of all levels with an opportunity to consider the latest products and services from global suppliers.
