The new MJ04 series 2mm metric connector system from JAE complies with the IEC 1076-4-101 electrical and mechanical specification for CompactPCI interconnection.

The new MJ04 series 2mm metric connector system from JAE complies with the IEC 1076-4-101 electrical and mechanical specification for CompactPCI interconnection.

These very high performance backplane connectors support cost-effective, open-standard platforms in mission critical applications such as telecommunication and network transport equipment.

The MJ04 system includes straight male and right-angle female connectors in type-A, type-B125, type-B110 and type-C formats.

Compliance with standard contact array codes includes the CompactPCI Hot Swap specification featuring staggered make-break pin populations.

In all MJ04 connectors the two outer rows of male modules contact with shielding or unshelded plates of female modules, creating five signal rows and two ground rows.

MJ04 connectors are end-to-end stackable for board real-estate savings with no change in contact pitch, and feature a single-press fit design with retention force greater than 10N.

The MJ04 system is designed for positive keying, and connectors have a lifetime of 250 insertions.

The MJ04 system satisfies a range of board thicknesses up to 5.6mm and the backboard pin connector follows a 16mm pitch.

Type-A connectors offer 110 signal contacts with two outer rows of 44 ground contacts, with multi-purpose centre (MPC) to prevent incorrect insertion.

Optional coding keys are also accepted.

Type-B125 connectors feature 125 signal plus 50 ground contacts, while type-B110 offers 110 signal contacts.

The half size type-C connector provides 55 signal contacts plus 22 ground contacts, and features guides for alignment of the mating connectors.
