The MJ05 compact backplane connector from JAE is designed to deliver high signal integrity in 2mm-pitch 100ohm differential signalling applications.

The MJ05 compact backplane connector from JAE is designed to deliver high signal integrity in 2mm-pitch 100ohm differential signalling applications Its 22 pairs of signal pins are shielded between the socket connector ground blades and pin connector ground pins, yielding less than 4.5% crosstalk and allowing each pin pair to be used for high speed signalling

This delivers superior high-speed transmission capability, especially at datarates above 3.2Gbit/s commonly required in routers, transport equipment, telecomms/datacomms devices and high-end servers.

Compliance with IEC61076-4-101 CompactPCI specification for 2.0mm pitch vertical signal pairs, and IEC60917 packaging, makes the MJ05 compatible with standard HM connectors such as JAE's MJ04 series.

Interlocking design allows each 44-pin unit to be joined to others enabling a larger connector array to be built as required.

The male, straight pin connector for backplane mounting, and female right angle socket connector for daughter card mounting are designed for press-fit, through-hole mounting in boards from 1.4 to 4.2mm thickness to support complex, multilayer backplanes.

Electrical performance parameters include AC RMS voltage rating 250V and 500mA rated DC current.

The copper contacts are plated gold over nickel across the contact area for low contact resistance.

The connector bodies are moulded from UL94V0 glass-filled liquid crystal polymer (LCP).

Operating temperature range is -55 to +85øC.
