Two new series of all-plastic waterproof connectors from JAE Europe combine a one-touch lock mechanism with a compact design ideal for small electronic devices including servomotors Ideal as an interface for industrial sensor devices, the push-and-twist type one-touch mechanism featured in JAE's JN1 and JN2 miniature circular connector series simplifies mating while also reducing profiles down to 30.3mm

The JN1 and JN2 receptacles are available in both through-hole and crimp versions that can be mounted directly on the board, while the plug is a reliable crimp connection type with simple wiring and assembly.

The all-plastic body of the new range contributes to a low weight of 11g for the JN1 devices and 30.5g for the JN2 parts.

Features of the new series also include excellent environmental protection such as waterproofing and dust proofing conforming to IP67 specifications, as well as safeguards against vibration and oil.

Additionally, the JN2 range of connectors has a threefold increase in breaking strength due to partial metallisation of certain parts.

JAE offers straight and 90-degree angle type plugs, which allow the direction of the cable leader to be set in four directions by rotating the angle type plug 90 degrees in each direction.

The new connector series offer a withstand voltage of 900V AC RMS and is rated for 200V AC RMS.

Contact resistance is measured at 20mohm, and insulation resistance is in excess of 1Gohm.

Operating temperature range for the new connectors is from -20 to +100C.
