The new SC1 connector series from JAE Europe allows product developers to adopt the thumbnail-size Mini-SD Card format for many data storage and retrieval functions Applications include data loggers, voice recorders, surveillance devices, personal music players, recorded message playback, personal data storage and many others

Operating temperature range from -25 to +85C allows use in ISM equipment as well as consumer products.

Mini-SD Card is 60% smaller than standard but has identical security features.

The SC1 series makes most of that size advantage available to PCB and product designers by being 43% smaller than a standard SD Card connector such as JAE's SG series.

SC1 connectors measure 23.45 x 21.7mm, and height is 2.35mm.

The SC1 range also includes a Mini-SD Card adapter, allowing Mini-SD Cards to be used in SG connectors for easy data sharing.

These are available with a movable write-protect switch, printable name panel and soft case.

The SC1 connector has 11 contacts, each with contact resistance less than 100mohm.

Maximum rated current and voltage are 0.5A and 3.3V, respectively.

The push-push insert-release mechanism features an eject structure, and there is a user-friendly audible click sound when inserting the card.

A card detection insertion switch is also included.

Stated lifetime is 10,000 insertions.

The connector is suitable for automatic placement, and compatible with lead-free soldering processes.
