CompactPCI connectors feature hot-swap coding
The new MJ04 series 2mm metric connector system from JAE complies with the IEC 1076-4-101 electrical and mechanical specification for CompactPCI interconnection.
Low-profile FPC connectors offer greater density
The FB1 series from JAE is a 0.3mm pitch low profile connector for FPC (flexible printed circuits) designed for use in applications where size and weight are a premium.
By adding the MX23A, JAE gives designers the choice of 18-, 26- or 34-contact automotive-grade connectors with ingress resistance to IP67, in a low profile format with a choice of standard or reverse pin headers.
MX23A is a 2.5mm pitch interconnect system designed for AVSS automotive-grade wires from 0.5 to 1.25mm2 conductive area.
Suitable sheath diameters range from 1.6 to 2.2mm.
The new connectors also reduce assembly time and minimise undetected errors on the production line, which can lead to early warranty returns.
First, terminal position assurance (TPA) detects incomplete insertion of a female terminal into its housing, providing an extra level of security that all connectors have been fully mated before moving on to the next procedure.
The socket connector features a reliable two-plate spring mechanism, plus a large chamfer to minimise damage to the grommet.
The MX23A pins are also shaped to prevent reverse insertion or damage to the grommet.
Insertion lifetime of MX23A connectors is 50 insertions, and the connectors are rated at 3A maximum current, with typical contact resistance of 10mohm.
The receptacle has a board-mounted height of 18.3mm; the socket connector has a profile of 22.2mm.
A front cap and rear cover are also provided, as well as an integrated seal ring, for maximum ingress resistance.
Operating temperature range is -40 to +125C, making the MX23A series suitable for automotive applications in under-bonnet locations, such as the engine control unit, and body-mounting in areas exposed to cold and wind.
