CompactPCI connectors feature hot-swap coding
The new MJ04 series 2mm metric connector system from JAE complies with the IEC 1076-4-101 electrical and mechanical specification for CompactPCI interconnection.
Low-profile FPC connectors offer greater density
The FB1 series from JAE is a 0.3mm pitch low profile connector for FPC (flexible printed circuits) designed for use in applications where size and weight are a premium.
The connectors have 30 contacts on 0.5mm pitch, with a secure ground connection for EMI prevention.
Hot plugging is supported, and a guide rail is also incorporated to prevent twisting at insertion and removal.
The receptacle is designed to require very small mounting area within the terminal product, requiring 24.2mm width, 6.65mm depth and 3.0mm mounting height.
Applications for DD1-series connectors and cable plug include portable products including PDAs, MP3 players and similar playback devices, digital still cameras and a wide range of professional and specialist playback, data handling and portable computing equipment.
Importantly, the connectors are compatible with Pb-free soldering processes, allowing design-in to products conforming to EU Reduction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) legislation including the Waste in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive due to come into force in 2006.
The high quality contacts are copper alloy with gold plating over nickel, rated at 0.5A per contact for signal contact and 1.0A for power.
The plug accepts standard 5.0mm diameter cable normally used for PC USB2.0 connections.
Cables with other diameters can also be used.
The DD1-series has a long, 10,000 cycle lifetime and an operating temperature range from -25 to +75C.
AC rated voltage is 30V RMS, and each member meets 1000Mohm minimum insulation resistance and 500V DC dielectric withstand voltage.
