Integrated design and manufacturing services provider Jaltek Group is to acquire Milton Keynes based Wavesight, Europe's premier vendor in the design, manufacture and supply of ruggedised, wireless transmission solutions to support intelligent data, voice and video applications for transportation, surveillance and enterprise The acquisition confirms that Jaltek is on course with its build out of an expertise portfolio targeted to provide added value to its growing client base

With Wavesight in the Jaltek Group, Jaltek can further expand its service offering to clients to include established world-class expertise in RF design, test and build.

In tandem, Wavesight's customer base will gain access to Jaltek's extensive, multicentred manufacturing, PCB design and software design capabilities.

As part of the Jaltek umbrella of companies, Wavesight will continue to trade under its own name and maintain its management and team structure.

Wavesight is a prime supplier of solutions to the UK's Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA), with IP-surveillance associated systems accounting for nearly 50% of revenue in 2006, a total of GBP 2.5 million.

Other market sectors where this technology has been deployed include transportation, defence, telecom and the public sector.

The company is ISO9002 accredited for its management processes, whilst all of its products meet or exceed ETSI and FCC standards for performance and compliancy.

Jaltek is a robust, profitable company, turning over in excess of GBP 10 million in 2006, a figure that has grown consistently since the company was established in 1998.

Jaltek currently operates from two sites, occupying a 1600m2 facility on the Sundon Business Park in Luton which employs 72 people, and another 400m2 facility in Wokingham which employs a further 10 people.

It is expected that this latest announcement will generate a further 10 additional job opportunities at the Luton facility.
