Marathon man raises money for Stroke
Association
A Customer Services Manager at a leading design and manufacturing services provider has raised over GBP2,500 for the Stroke Association by running the London Marathon.
Mike Harvey, Customer Services Manager at design and manufacturing services provider, Jaltek Group, has raised over GBP2,500 for the Stroke Association by running the London Marathon Completing the race in 4:52:35, Harvey's strict training schedule of 40-60 miles a week certainly paid dividends in enabling him to complete the gruelling event

Commenting on the marathon, Mike says, "What an amazing event this was".
"I managed well for the first half, by 17 miles I was starting to feel it in the heat, but by about 23 miles I ran out of juice".
"However the crowd and other runners kept me going and it was a proud moment when I crossed the finish line".
He continues: "I have chosen to support The Stroke Association for this event as I believe it is a very worthwhile charity".
"It is not commonly known that stroke is actually the third biggest killer in the world and the biggest cause of disability".
"I would like to raise the profile of this worthwhile organisation and this felt like the ideal opportunity to do something about it".
Jaltek Group has sponsored Harvey to the tune of GBP1000 for the event.
Steve Pittom, Commercial Director for Jaltek Group, summed up Harvey's efforts by saying: "We are delighted to help Mike support The Stroke Association through this prestigious event".
"Mike is a key member of our team and his great strength of character served him well as he made his way round the streets of London".
"It was agreed that as a company we would support him and so have pledged to sponsor Mike the value of GBP1,000".
