The FCD488 is the first telecomms-based visible solid-state laser designed for biomedical, industrial and semiconductor applications.
The ONT-503 is suitable for users who share resources and need to use one test instrument across different departments and sites, such as engineers who normally use 40/43G test instruments in the lab but also need them for highly-sophisticated certification measurements at customer sites (re-using known procedures).
The product is also suitable for rental companies that do not want to cover all applications in one mainframe and those who require a compact test instrument for jitter testing at 10/10.7G and 2.5/2.7G.
"Consumer and business demand for broadband services has prompted operators to increase investment in 40G to expand the capacity of their networks", said Bernhard Mueller, General Manager for JDSU's Optical Transport Test And Measurement Group.

"With the addition of the ONT-503, JDSU has an unmatched set of solutions designed to help the market meet the challenges associated with the development, production and operation of 40G networks".
The JDSU ONT-503 draws most of its features from the ONT-506, including software, the CPU, a 15-inch touch screen and an integrated clock module.
ONT- 503 modules and ONT-506/-512 modules are interchangeable for greater user flexibility across platforms.
The ONT-503 includes the industry's most compact and accurate jitter solution at 2.5/2.7G as well as 10/10.7G.
The ONT platform is a multi-functional, multi-port and multi-user solution for fast and flexible testing of optical network environments.
The ONT is designed to address the optical and digital testing needs in R and D, SVT and troubleshooting.
JDSU offers a choice of ONT platforms covering rack-mountable and portable mainframes and a range of plug-in instrument modules for Sonet/SDH, DSn/PDH, new SONET/SDH, OTN, EoS, Ethernet and DWDM, controlled via an intuitive user interface.
The ONT is suitable for manufacturers, early technology installers, operator's verification lab and tier-3 support of optical networks.
EoS, 10G Ethernet with overclocked FEC and 40/43G test functionality are the newest additions to the ONT testers which include high-accuracy Jitter test capabilities.
