JDSU offers high-powered UV laser

JDSU has announced the availability of the Q304-HD high-power ultraviolet (UV) laser.

Based upon the Q Series UV laser platform from JDSU, the Q304-HD laser provides 50 per cent more power and is designed to increase throughput, or the rate at which it can conduct micro-machining functions such as hole drilling, wafer cutting or singulation and solar cell processing.

Higher throughput from the laser allows manufacturers to increase productivity.

In addition, the laser operates at a higher power level without using additional electrical consumption due to enhancements in the laser design.

This also ensures a longer lifespan.
