JMC Products describes its Panther technology as the latest in ultraquiet DC fan design.

JMC Products describes its Panther range as the latest in ultraquiet DC fan design.

In traditional fans, the most dominant acoustic noise is due to the fan's motor switching noise.

The stator motion is a square wave that is switched on and off before and after the peak torque position.

This motion causes a small amount of undulation in motor torque, producing an audible noise caused by the lower frequency commutation operation.

Each small torque causes a minute contracting of the entire fan structure and results in an audible clicking noise while the fan is operating.

The Panther fans operate at switching levels above 20kHz, a much higher frequency level, producing a soft commutation that results in a quiet operation that is above the audible range for human hearing.

"Most applications designed today require an unobtrusive, yet efficient cooling solution", states John Murphy, President of JMC Products.

"The Panther fan series are highly rated for their performance capacity while using less power and producing less noise than most fans on the market", he adds.

Panther fan technology can be incorporated into any JMC DC fan size, and is ideally suitable for PWM and temperature speed control of applications such as personal computers, servers, power supplies, and a multitude of electronic enclosures.

The Panther fan design is a highly efficient, direct design with a single-phase motor and bipolar drive.

Panther fans are available now to OEM and distribution customers.

Panther fan technology can be incorporated into any JMC DC fan ranging in size from 25 to 120mm, requiring less than 1A of power.

Pricing of Panther fans depends on fan size, fan features, and quantities ordered.

All JMC products are guaranteed to be free of defects in material and workmanship when operated under specified temperature, humidity, and voltage ratings.
