TapCommunicator is a novel product for remote, high-fidelity communications of boundary-scan test vectors and device programming data, using existing communication links.
Measurement of mixed-signal levels can be a highly beneficial troubleshooting technique during product development, environmental screening, functional testing, and in field service to verify power supply and reference voltages.
Moreover, today's mission-critical systems can take advantage of the technique to perform health monitoring and prognostic functions while in operation, via an embedded boundary-scan structure.
"National Semiconductor's SCANSTA476 expands JTAG test into the analogue realm by simplifying measurement of mixed-signal or analogue voltages", said Ken Filliter, senior product marketing manager for National Semiconductor Corporation's Interface Group.
"The JTAG Technologies utility capitalises on the benefits of the SCANSTA476, making it even easier for customers to monitor critical analogue signals throughout the product life cycle".
The STA476 utility from JTAG Technologies provides a graphical user interface allowing selection of any of the eight analogue inputs on the evaluation board.
DC measurements can then be conducted on the selected channel(s) using a preselected JTAG Technologies controller to initiate the test and access the results over a standard 1149.1 boundary-scan interface.
The utility program is available free-of-charge for customers at the customer service area of the JTAG Technologies website. Request a free brochure from JTAG Technologies ...
