Four-channel transceiver allows flexible testing
JTAG Technologies announces the availability of the newly developed JT 2147 QuadPOD system.
JTAG Technologies announces the availability of the newly developed JT 2147 QuadPOD system.
The new interface consists of a modular four-channel transceiver and a set of up to four TAP PODs for use with the existing DataBlaster family of high-performance IEEE1149.1 (boundary-scan) controllers.
The new QuadPOD offers great flexibility to the user.
The voltage threshold of each of the four test access ports (TAPs) can be set independently by the user over the range of 1.2 to 3.3V in steps of 0.1V, matching the most recently introduced low voltage levels in advanced ICs.
Within a single TAP, the boundary-scan TDI and TDO signal lines can be configured to different voltage levels, thereby supporting a scan chain comprised of ICs of different thresholds.
Cable length between the QuadPOD transceiver and the target can be extended as required with no loss of signal integrity.
At the maximum TCK frequency of 25MHz, the built-in extender supports a range of a minimum of one meter.
Additional repeaters may be cascaded to extend the range of the TAP signals indefinitely.
Such features allow users to develop and build high-volume test and manufacturing systems with an inherent high degree of reproducibility and reliability.
The JT 2147 QuadPOD System is compatible with current JT 3707 and JT 3710 boundary-scan controllers.
An important and unique feature of the four-channel QuadPOD system is that it can be used to control a target UUT containing up to four boundary-scan chains with full synchronisation.
Furthermore, this feature is fully supported by JTAG Technologies' software development tools for test and Flash ISP applications.
Alternatively the TAP PODs of the QuadPOD System can be used to drive separate targets for concurrent "gang" testing, programming, and verification of Flash memories for example.
The JT 2147 QuadPOD system is available immediately.
