JTAG Technologies is celebrating a decade of providing technical support in the UK The company, acknowledged as a market leader in IEEE1149 boundary-scan tools, started providing technical support in September 1996 - since when its applications engineers have assisted customers on more than 2000 projects

The support included (and continues to include): assisting customers with design for test (DFT) strategies; boundary-scan description language (BSDL) model sourcing and debug; advice on cluster testing and in-system programming (ISP); customising compilers to cope with nonstandard devices; and undertaking bespoke project work.

James Stanbridge, UK Sales Manager of JTAG Technologies, comments: "JTAG Technologies is considered to be one of the most experienced players in the boundary-scan tools market and the support we provide to customers is second-to-none".

Perhaps one of JTAG Technologies' earliest customers in the UK is Tewkesbury-based TRL Technology.

Andy Dunn, is TRL's Test Manager.

He says: "I've been a user of JTAG Technologies' products virtually since the company set up in the UK, and JTAG's technical support team has always provided fast and accurate responses to all of our requests over the years".

Also providing testimony is Steve Lees, ATE Solutions' Technical Director: "Their [JTAG Technologies'] UK technical support engineers are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and approachable".

"For any problems, no matter how trivial or complex, a solution is always just a phone call away".

Since opening its technical support department, JTAG Technologies' engineers have worked closely with hundreds of engineering companies in the UK, on a wide variety of challenging applications.

"'Support' is sometimes too small a word for the way we've worked with many of our customers during the past ten years", concludes Stanbridge: "and more often than not we integrate closely with our customers in order to live and breath their applications - and it's our intention to carry on doing so".
