Driver development toolkit takes on National USB
Jungo Software Technologies has produced a driver development toolkit for National Semiconductor's USB device family.
Jungo Software Technologies has produced a driver development toolkit for National Semiconductor's USB device family.
WinDriver, Jungo's driver development toolkit will now be bundled with National Semiconductor's USB node controller design boards, thereby enabling developers to accelerate their product's time to market, by overcoming the device driver development bottleneck.
WinDriver enables fast development of high performance, USB device drivers that run under Windows 98, Me, 2000 and XP.
WinDriver eliminates driver development bottlenecks, and simplifies device driver development by providing a graphical development environment, intuitive application programming interfaces (APIs), hardware diagnostic utilities and samples.
National Semiconductor's USBN9603/4 USB node controllers offer high performance and quality at an attractive price.
The devices are available in the smallest package in the market for a device of this class (28-lead CSP), making it ideal for portable applications.
National Semiconductor's engineers used WinDriver to develop a diagnostics application for the National Semiconductor USB node controllers, which further shortens the development cycle by providing a set of WinDriver-based APIs specifically customised for National Semiconductor's USB products.
"Jungo tools leverage the competitiveness of National Semiconductor's USB products by combining leading hardware and software offerings to provide more complete solutions to our customers", said Abraham Mizrahi, USB product manager at National Semiconductor.
"By partnering with National Semiconductor on a USB product, Jungo is able to offer developers a complete software and hardware reference design, with which they can bring USB products to market more affordably, and in higher quality", said Ophir Herbst general manager, Software Tools division at Jungo.
National Semiconductor has joined other major USB-controller vendors that have teamed with Jungo to provide a complete solution for their customers.
