company

Kaisertech has supplied a Sniper BGA rework system to Reading-based SMC Electronics, the specialist in repairing networking equipment such as modems, multiplexers and bridges.

Electronic production equipment company Kaisertech has supplied a Sniper BGA rework system to Reading-based SMC Electronics, the specialist in repairing networking equipment such as modems, multiplexers, hubs, switches, routers, bridges, power supplies and similar products The service, established in 1988, ensures fast and reliable repair so that the business world's critical network systems are permanently operational

The APE Sniper is an operator friendly BGA rework system that combines precision component removal and replacement with optical alignment.

It is suitable for use with a range of surface mount components and has been designed to provide absolute control in positioning together with a high degree of process repeatability in what previously has been a variable process highly dependent on operator skill.

The equipment provides fast registration and does not need adjusting mirrors or lengthy setup periods when changing between component types.

A split image of the component and PCB component pattern is viewed on a colour monitor, and axis adjustment is made with a vacuum locked PCB worktable.

Once aligned the component is automatically placed at the press of a button.

SMC is so impressed with the Sniper system and the service provided by Kaisertech, says the company's technical manager Justin Turner, that it is now offering a separate BGA rework service. Request a free brochure from Kaisertech ...
