Ionisation systems keep cleanrooms clean
Designed for manufacturing areas, the range of Simco overhead air ionisation systems from Kaisertech complements bench-level units in eliminating harmful electrostatic discharges.
To date Kaisertech has supplied 45 soldering systems plus accessories, as well as two of its own brand KT solder fume extraction units, to Park Air's power amplifier production line.
The company subcontracts much of its manufacturing, but the power amps are made on site because they require very accurate soldering, a task well suited to the JBC Advance system, and highly skilled operators to ensure the effective performance and longevity of the finished product.
The soldering system's microprocessor driven heating system provides very fast heat recovery so that it can operate at lower temperatures than previously possible, typically a maximum of 370C instead of the more common 450C.

Rework system provides even heating
The Sniper-WB, available from Kaisertech, has been developed to rework PCBs as small as 51 x 51mm right up to 508 x 610mm, and even larger boards can be accommodated by special request.
Hot bar bonder tackles many tasks
Kaisertech has introduced the low-cost MicroJoin model 2100 pulsed heat hot bar bonder that integrates the critical features and functions needed for soldering, heat seal or ACF bonding
Not only does this provide faster soldering but also the system is kinder to circuit boards and components by reducing thermal shock.
It is claimed that the JBC unit provides an 80% improvement over the performance of conventional soldering tools.
For instance while a conventional station can take between 10 and 90s to reach 350C these systems, using the appropriate handpiece, can reach this temperature in only 2s.
The heating system used achieves a high heating power in a very small cartridge, which means that the mass to be heated is small and therefore the thermal inertia is minimal.
In tests measuring the time taken to perform a series of five solder joints the Advance station completed the task in only 8s with a temperature drop of just 30C - a conventional system took twice this time (16s) and suffered a temperature drop of 70C.
Tip life can be up to five times longer than usual because as soon as the soldering iron is left on its stand the tip temperature automatically drops to 250C, reducing the wear on the tip.
When the soldering iron is taken out of the stand the soldering temperature is rapidly recovered because of the s cartridge's small mass.
Commenting on their choice of soldering equipment Alan Miller, a process engineer at Park Air Systems said: "When Kaisertech demonstrated the system to us we were quickly impressed with the speed, accuracy and quality of the result and further evaluation by ourselves confirmed this.
Since then we have equipped with 45 JBC systems, with more to be ordered, and also have benefited from Kaisertech's excellent backup and supply chain management service that ensure we always have the replacement tips available in our stores without the hassle of having to manually re-order every time".
