Placement systems reduce downtime
System flexibility and expandability and offline programming capabilities were key factors when G and B Electronics specified its latest two placement systems.
The machine accommodates up to a hundred 8mm tape feeders and has a choice of vision systems.
With a 45mm line array camera as standard and a CCD camera as an option the Opal places components from 0201 to 45 x 45mm BGA, flip-chips, CSP, connectors and odd form SMDs.
Accuracy is up to 40um at 3 sigma, and maximum throughput is 11,500 components per hour.
Expandability and ease of use are features of the Opal.
It uses Windows NT for networking and centralised component database handling and can be expanded with additional heads for more speed; also extended tray handling adds more flexibility.
Furthermore a second Opal machined can be configured in-line using the same network database, and other machines from the GEM-X II range can be combined with it. Request a free brochure from Kaisertech ...
