Placement system uses smart feeders

The Assembleon MG-1 placement system from Kaisertech will handle boards from 50 x 50 to 460 x 440mm and from 0.4 to 4mm thick.

The machine's high precision single placement beam carries eight independent servo controlled heads for chip and IC shooting.

Chip placement speeds are up to 24,000 components per hour and IC speeds are 10,000 per hour.

It also accommodates up to 96 smart feeders, or 160 twin tape feeders, along with stick, bulk and many new tray feeding solutions, holding up to 60 trays in quick change magazines.

The smart feeders have RFID technology to speed up and simplify machine setup and to provide a real-time component inventory check.

Also, feeder indicators provide the operator with information on the feeder status.

Other features include a side view camera for production quality improvement, a high precision coplanarity checker, a component sequencer with two inline loading heads, automatic tray stacker, feeder indicators for easy setup and quick PCB transport system.
