APT name for new optoelectronics source
Martin Sharratt, who for many years ran AMS Technologies' OptoTech Division, has started a new company called AP Technologies.
Glen spent 21 years at ICI plc in three different divisions and most recently he dealt with product development and technology strategy, including patents and international alliances, as the Business Technical Manager for the Imagedata division.
"Intellectual property and patenting can cause serious problems if the complex law surrounding this area is not understood and the company then fails to protect itself properly.
Having someone on the team with first hand experience of negotiating IP and patent disputes and managing international patent licensing will ensure that Kamelian does not encounter any of these problems", commented Tim Bestwick, COO and cofounder of Kamelian.
During his time at ICI plc, Glen managed many large-scale projects including strategic technology development, improving internal business processes, material development and customer and supplier relationships.
This extensive project management experience gives him a strong knowledge of manufacturing business systems and processes.
A broad academic background of chemical physics, in which he holds a BSc (Hons) degree and an Opto-Electronics PhD from the University of Edinburgh, further strengthens his suitability and versatility.
"We plan to launch our first range of indium phosphide SOA-based devices later this year and Rob's knowledge of complex programme management will be key to making our product launch highly successful", commented Paul May, CEO and cofounder of Kamelian.
"His appointment builds on our already strong team of personnel who together will ensure that Kamelian becomes the leading supplier of SOA products for the optical network industry".
