New from Kane Computing, the Predator-560 is an Ethernet JTAG emulator designed to support the latest TMS320 DSPs from Texas Instruments The Predator-560 offers an easy-to-use Ethernet interface for PC-based developers and provides customers the ability to have increased visibility into their designs based on TI's DSPs

The Predator-560 offers code download speeds much faster than the previous generation of emulators and takes advantage of the high-speed real-time data exchange (RTDX) capabilities featured in TI's XDS560 emulation technology.

These capabilities provide customers with easier and faster development and give them an edge over their competitors in bringing their products to market.

The use of an Ethernet emulator has a number of advantages and benefits compared with the normal PCI emulator.

When connected to an Ethernet hub, multiple users can use the same development hardware saving inventory costs.

A local area network (LAN)-based system means users can be in a physically different location than the target hardware.

This improves efficiency and eliminates unnecessary movements of personnel around an office/research facility.

The Predator-560 can be used with desktop and notebook PCs allowing developers to work away from the office for greater flexibility.

"The Predator-560 will enable our customers to develop and debug new applications more quickly and with fewer problems", said Richard White, managing director of Kane Computing.

"TI's new XDS560 emulator takes real-time JTAG scan-based emulation and debugging to a new level of visibility and access, allowing us to extend this technology with the offering of our Ethernet product".

Kane Computing recognised the importance of this new generation of emulation technology and has worked with TI from the initial concept to bring the Predator-560 to the marketplace.

It is compatible with the previous generation XDS510 emulator, preserving software and board investments while offering new features such as advanced event triggering for powerful, nonintrusive debugging and event sequencing for maximum user control.

"The Predator-560 emulator from Kane Computing offers customers an emulator that can be shared easily among developers, reducing the number of emulators required for any development team, and speeding up the time to market for their design", said Bill Novak, emulation technology product manager, TI.

"We are excited to be extending the family of XDS560 emulators for DSP developers with Kane's Ethernet solution". Request a free brochure from Kane Computing ...
