PCMCIA JTAG emulator endorsed by TI DSP
Kane Computing claims that its Predator PCMCIA JTAG emulator was used by Texas Instruments to communicate with the first TMS320C6416 DSPs to come out of its fab, and it all worked first time.
The CST solution is a set of algorithms for telephony and low cost Internet connectivity which is supplied in on-chip ROM in the client-side telephony developers kit available from Kane Computing.
The kit includes an evaluation board with the TMS320C54CST DSP, analogue DAA, external Flash and SRAM, RS232 serial interface and JTAG interface.
Fourteen eXpressDSP-compliant data, telephony and voice algorithms are provided in on-chip ROM.

Spirit Corp has recently developed new 1000 and 2000bit/s proprietary vocoders featuring reduced bitrate and good speech quality.
These vocoders are best fitted for bitrate-critical applications with limited storage capacity, such as digital answering machines, PDAs, and home appliances.
Both vocoders are based on the classic LPC model, with mixed multiband excitation (MMBE) model used for excitation signal that ensures correct transmission of all speech signals with tone, noise and mixed spectrum components.
Spirit's 1000 and 2000bit/s vocoders are available for licensing in the form of portable ANSI C code.
In Q1 2003 these vocoders will be available as object code for TI's TMS320C54x and TMS320C55x platforms.
A new top-performance version of Spirit's G.723.1 vocoder algorithm is now available for TI's TMS320C62x platform as an eXpressDSP (XDAIS) compliant object.
The thoroughly optimised algorithm achieves an unprecedented level of resource economy - as low as 7.3MCPS on C62x chip - at the same time offering high quality of speech compression.
The code is fully compliant with the ITU G.723.1 recommendation and conforms to TI's eXpressDSP standard, which makes it easy to integrate with the target platform and other software products.
Other Spirit software products available from Kane Computing include voice/fax over IP and voice/fax logging as complete solutions, telephony algorithms (including echo cancellation, caller ID, detectors and generators); vocoders, fax and data modems; speech technologies (noise cancellation, speaker verification/identification) and Internet audio (MP3 decoder, AAC audio decoder).
