PCMCIA JTAG emulator endorsed by TI DSP
Kane Computing claims that its Predator PCMCIA JTAG emulator was used by Texas Instruments to communicate with the first TMS320C6416 DSPs to come out of its fab, and it all worked first time.
The system is designed to be an evaluation and development platform for early adopters of the new Texas Instruments digital media DSP, the TMS320DM642.
The DMEK6414 will help companies gain an advantage over their competitors by allowing them to complete their product designs ahead of DM642 silicon release, giving them a head start when silicon is available.
The DMEK6414 system comprises feature packed hardware and complete software development environment for video applications.
The stand-alone board uses an existing 600MHz C6414 DSP with the DM642 video ports synthesised in FPGA.
Analogue and digital audio and video has been designed into the board and communication is via JTAG interface, serial interfaces and optionally Ethernet.
A CMOS camera chip built into the DMEK daughtercard allows immediate development of imaging applications based on the BT656 digital video standard.
A comprehensive software environment comes with the kit to speed up product development.
It includes application samples and technology demonstrations.
A range of video and audio compression libraries including MPEG4, MPEG2, JPEG, AAC, MP, CELP and ADPCM are available as options.
Applications include emulation of the DM642, developing multimedia products, consumer electronics and MPEG4/MPEG2 applications.
The DMEK6414 costs GBP 3400 and is available now. Request a free brochure from Kane Computing ...
