The AMP-Thunder from Ateme is the one stop solution for audio and video decoding for applications such as set top boxes.

The AMP-Thunder from Ateme is the one stop solution for audio and video decoding for applications such as set top boxes.

When using the AMP-Thunder as a development platform, hardware redesign can be started based on pdf schematics or optional Orcad files.

Video decoding libraries include MPEG-4-ASP, H.264, MPEG-2SD and Windows Media 9.

This complete package provides all necessary hardware (AMP processing board and MMIO, video, audio and peripherals input/output board) and hard disk drive (HDD) plus software.

This includes development tools, Embedded Linux development kit (ELDK) and a complete set top box (STB) application example in source code, plus audio decoders (MPEG1 layer 3, MPEG2 layer 2, MPEG4 AAC and WMA), RTP/RTSP, mux libraries, audio/video synchronisation (on AAC) and video decoders (MPEG4, H.264, WM9, MPEG-2).

The AMP processing board used a dual processor hardware design.

(Motorola MPC5200 GPP and TI DM642 DSP).

The GPP provides a much wider range of peripherals that would be possible with a DSP-only solution, including USB, RS485/422, R5232, CAN interface, digital I/O and ATA-33.
