DaVinci design speeds cameras to market
eInfoChips reference design will allow OEMs to build smart IP surveillance cameras easily and quickly targeted for different applications.
A new distribution agreement with eInfoChips has allowed Kane Computing to launch a reference design that will allow OEMs to build smart IP surveillance cameras easily and quickly targeted for different applications.
eInfoChips was founded in 1994, and now has over 500 engineers with extensive design experience with DSP platforms, particularly Texas Instruments digital media processors.
From this work, a number of new and innovative products have emerged.
The IPNetCam smart IP surveillance camera reference design offers a ready-to-go solution enabling OEMs to build a range of smart IP surveillance cameras easily and quickly targeted for different applications.
Based on the Texas Instruments DaVinci TMS320DM6446 platform IPNetCam is a ready-to-go solution, fully enabled for intelligent surveillance applications with features like object detection, classification and tracking It offers manufacturers a complete hardware and software package needed to quickly and easily design smart IP surveillance solutions with a variety of advanced features.
The software is compliant with DaVinci XDM Framework.
Based on the Linux operating system the software supports dual mode encoding and the ObjectVideo OnBoard algorithm for content analytics.
Another exciting product is the DVPB, DaVinci prototyping board.
DVPB is a small form factor board and is ideal for prototyping applications based on DaVinci technology.
The board features all commonly required peripheral interfaces like video and audio I/O, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, USB, VLYNQ, SD, HDD, RTC, IR and GPIO and can also be used for developing media application.
The board is targeted for applications like smart surveillance camera, video servers, video conference systems, and other streaming media applications.
The DVPB is bundled with a software package consisting U-Boot bootloader, test utilities and demo applications enabling developers to develop and prototype applications based on DaVinci technology.
The software package also consists of a surveillance system demo application based on H.264/MPEG4 video compression streaming live media using RTP/RTSP.
The demo also features a web based client application for live viewing of the video.
As well as these products, eInfoChips offers complete solutions from concept to prototype development including hardware design, firmware development and application integration in the areas of audio, video/ imaging and communications, and a portfolio of OEM-ready solutions.
DSP services include: algorithm design and development, selection of DSP processor best suited for the application, Processor specific optimisation of software, porting and preparing board support packages for RTOS on DSP, porting applications from legacy platforms to DSP with performance optimisation, Developing board level systems and firmware solutions on DSP System integration and optimisation services include: comprehensive system architecture review, hardware development and customisation, integration of third party IPs, firmware integration, application development and porting/migrating applications across platforms to enhance features and performance.
