CompactPCI range supported in the UK

A Kane Computing product story

EKF Systems CompactPCI boards and systems are now available in the UK from Kane Computing following the signing of a new distributor agreement.

KCL had been unwittingly selling EKF products in large CompactPCI data collection systems supplied via North American partners, and decided it would be sensible to supply UK customers with the products direct from the manufacturer.

EKF was founded in 1972 developing microcomputer products and in the 1980s supplied Eurobus and VMEbus products.

In 1998 EKF started to manufacture CompactPCI boards and systems.

cPCI products currently manufactured by EKF include: CompactPCI adapters that allow the use of PCI boards in cPCI systems; CPUs with Celeron and Pentium processors; mezzanine expansion boards; rear I/O transition modules; Ethernet/USB/FireWire (IEEE1392) modules; PC card host adapters; SATCBI controllers; a GPS receiver; plus ISDN and serial interfaces.

These modules can be fitted into a range of cPCI 19in racks ranging from small 1U two-slot systems to 7U eight-slot systems.

EKF also offers a range of development and manufacturing resources for custom systems.

Kane Computing also represents Lyrtech in the UK, which manufactures a wide range of high performance cPCI boards and systems for high speed data collection, radio and many other applications.
