Simple but effective screening for
connectors
The KC 2200 and KC 2400 are two series of EMC backshells from KEC that are designed to provide top levels of EMC performance when used with all standard circular connectors.
The KC 2200 and KC 2400 are two series of EMC backshells from KEC that are designed to provide top levels of EMC performance when used with all standard circular connectors Lightweight and compact, the KC 2400 uses a simple but highly effective method of trapping the outer braid of the cable between the body shell and a coarse threaded nut to provide high levels of overall screening

Tempest high performance level EMC backshell
The KC 2300 is a series of high performance EMC backshells that provides excellent protection including Tempest levels but is reduced in sizeand weight from other backshells in the range.
The KC 2200 is designed for applications that require both overall and individual screening.
It employs a system designed and patented by KEC that uses the braid trap nut and interwoven braid.
The braid is wound between the individual conductors and this and the outer cable braid are trapped by the braid trap nut.
The slotted body technique ensures a minimum number of component parts and the interweave method provides high levels of individual screening without any of the drawbacks associated with solder sleeves, daisy chaining, pigtails and other time consuming methods.
The system is simple to use and easily reworked.
Environmental screening on both backshells is by heat shrink boot.
The KC 2200 and KC 2400 are part of the KC 2000 range of backshells for standard circular connectors that are available at prices suitable for both small batch and high volume production runs and will help manufacturers comply with all levels of UK and EC screening directives.
