Three move up at Keithley
Three senior appointments at Keithley Instruments see Linda C Rae elected Senior Vice President, and Mark A Hoersten and Alan S Gaffney elected as Vice Presidents of the company.
Three senior appointments at Keithley Instruments see Linda C Rae elected Senior Vice President, and Mark A Hoersten and Alan S Gaffney elected as Vice Presidents of the company.
Rae, 37, has been elected Senior Vice President and General Manager.
In this newly created position, Rae will be responsible for co-ordinating the company's day-to-day operations across the functional organisations of sales, commercial marketing, product development, and manufacturing.
She will report to Joseph P Keithley, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer and Gabriel A Rosica, Executive Vice President, who comprise the Office of the President.
Rae joined Keithley in 1995 as a product marketeer and later served as business manager of Keithley's component test group, as well as the company's optoelectronics group.
Most recently Rae was co-General Manager.
She earned a Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering from the University of Florida, and a Master's degree in electrical engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
In addition, she holds an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
Hoersten, 44, has been elected Vice President Business Management.
In his new role, Hoersten will expand upon his previous responsibilities as co-General Manager, and will be responsible for managing all of the company's target market groups.
Hoersten joined Keithley in 1980 as a design engineer and has since held several positions including engineering manager, product market manager, strategic marketing manager, and business manager for the telecommunications group.
He graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Science Degree in electrical engineering, earned a Master of Science Degree in electrical engineering from Cleveland State University, and received his MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
Gaffney, 32, was elected Vice President Commercial Marketing and Information Systems.
In his new officer role, Gaffney will be responsible for the company's direct marketing and e-business programmes, as well as leading the company's information systems including the implementation of new ERP and CRM software systems.
Gaffney joined Keithley in 1999 as direct marketing manager, and most recently held the position of director of commercial marketing and information systems.
Gaffney graduated from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland with a Bachelor of Science Degree in management.
He also holds an advanced diploma in marketing and a diploma in business studies from Trinity College.
Gaffney earned an MBA in international business from The University of Akron.
"The promotions are a natural outcome of the company's succession planning", explained Joseph P Keithley, the company's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer.
"Two year's ago, we organised ourselves functionally to implement our strategy of pursuing multiple applications within the electronics industry.
We believe this structure enables us to address opportunities in our targeted industries more effectively.
The contributions made by Linda, Mark and Alan to the company have demonstrated their leadership abilities for these key officer positions".
