The new MOD7470 isolation unit from Kenton Research is designed to protect sensitive communications equipment from surges caused by lightning, electrostatic effects or traction currents.

The new MOD7470 isolation unit from Kenton Research is designed to protect sensitive communications equipment from surges caused by lightning, electrostatic effects or traction currents The new unit provides a barrier between the electronic equipment and the transmission line, and offers protection against voltages of up to 10 kV

Each unit interfaces one metallic 4-wire speech-band data circuit of 600 ohms impedance.

It has an outer case made of high-impact ABS plastic and sealed to IP55, and incorporates RJ45 connectors for interfacing with the transmission line and the equipment being protected.

Electrical specifications include a frequency range of 200-4000 Hz, insertion loss of less than 1 dB, return loss of greater than 23 dB, signal amplitude range of -60 to +20 dB, and crosstalk of -80 dB.

It can easily be mounted on a wall or fitted into an equipment cabinet.
