Kingston Technology has been ranked 18th in the "50 best workplaces in the UK 2004", by the Great Place to Work Europe Consortium in conjunction with the Financial Times The best workplace rankings, released this week, list the top 50 employers in the UK and the 100 best in the EU

The surveys are the culmination of data collected from more than 120,000 employees, in over 1000 companies across 15 EU countries.

Employees answered questions on every aspect of their workplace environment.

The Great Place to Work Europe Consortium commented: "Kingston Technology has again demonstrated a clear commitment to the training and support of its employees.

This has resulted in excellent ratings from its employees, which sees the company again listed for the second year in succession in the 50 best places to work in the UK".

Ann Keefe, Head of UK and Ireland Sales at Kingston Technology commented on the company's continued success: "We are delighted to have been placed 18th in the best places to work in the UK, making the top 50 for the second time".

"During 2003 we increased our international turnover and trade significantly and we believe this is down to good communication, training and valuing their expertise and commitment".

"As the world's largest independent manufacturer of memory products, Kingston Technology's success is built on high performance products, honesty and quality customer care".

"We understand that the best calibre staff, from development to post sales support is what sets us apart from our competitors".

"We are proud that our staff are so engaged and supportive of the company".

The surveys were based on the "Great place to work" model, which was composed of a trust index questionnaire and a culture audit.

The trust index contained 53 questions principally focusing on the employees' pride in work and trust of management.

The confidentiality of the questionnaires was guaranteed with the employees mailing their responses directly to the Institute of Social and Ethical Accountability, the UK research partner.
