Kingston Technology has instituted a lifetime warranty policy on most of its digital media products.

Kingston Technology has instituted a lifetime warranty policy on most of its digital media products.

According to the new lifetime warranty, if any of Kingston Technology's Compact Flash, MultiMediaCard, Secure Digital or Smart Media products fails at any time, and the failure is caused by a defect in material or workmanship, Kingston Technology will either repair or replace the product.

Until now, the standard warranty on such products was five years.

"This lifetime warranty is a way for us to demonstrate our commitment to the digital media industry", commented Thomas Marschner, European Vice President Sales and Marketing, Kingston Technology.

"We would not offer a lifetime warranty without the reliability and support behind it", continued Marschner.

The new warranty policy will be offered to any products made on or after 1st January 2004.
