DDR2 800MHz memory modules are specially designed to support the AMD Athlon 64 product family for select socket AM2 desktop processors.

Kingston Technology, the world's leading independent memory manufacturer, today announced the release of its DDR2 800MHz (PC2-6400) ValueRAM memory modules The modules have been specially designed to support the AMD Athlon 64 product family for select socket AM2 desktop processors

Available in capacities of up to 2Gbyte, the new DDR2 800MHz modules offer the next generation in DDR memory technology - featuring faster speeds, higher data bandwidths, lower power consumption, and enhanced thermal performance over standard DDR memory.

Kingston Technology worked closely with AMD and partners during the development of DDR2 based platforms that will support DDR2 memory.

Whereas the socket AM2 platforms support standard DDR2 533 and 667MHz, they also have the capability to support the latest DDR2 800MHz modules.
