Devices switch to lead-free terminations
Kemet has changed to a lead-free standard termination for its Aximax conformally coated axial and Goldmax conformally coated radial products.
All parts are environmentally friendly, in accordance with RoHS environmental legislation.
Kemet continues to drive tantalum technology with the release of the T530X158M2R5ATE005, which serves as a benchmark for multiple anode devices with the highest capacitance and lowest ESR available on the market.
This part fills a design niche for low voltage power supplies and effectively reduces required piece counts in high-speed server applications.
New additions to the T520 organic polymer line include four high capacitance, low ESR values not currently offered by the competition.
These new releases include: one "A" (3216-18) case in 68uF at 2.5V with an ESR value of 80mohm; one "D" (7343-31) case in 330uF at 6V with an ESR value of 10mohm; and two "Y" (7343-40) cases in 330 ands 680uF at 6 and 2.5V, each with an ESR value of 15mohm.
These additions offer more capacitance for portable electronics as well as decoupling and filtering applications.
Kemet's leading-edge low ESR additions include four new 80mohm T520A cases, one new 70mohm T520T, two new 10mohm T520D, and two new 15mohm T520Y part types.
The "A" and "T" (3528-12) part types offer higher capacitance with low ESR in a smaller footprint for space-restricted applications such as mobile phones, MP3 players, PDAs, DSCs and notebooks.
The newly released "D" and "Y" cases offer cost-competitive solutions for high-speed decoupling requirements.
Kemet now offers three new T525T part types not available from the competition.
These 125C rated tantalum polymer devices offer flexibility where space is restricted and higher temperature capability is needed.
Other high-demand products released were two additional T520T part types and the latest 35mohm T520B, used in consumer electronic devices due to their low profile and small footprint.
Kemet has also added 20 and 25V T520V cases.
These high voltage, low profile devices can be used on the input side of power supplies with applications requiring up to 16 and 20V, respectively.
