The latest addition to Knitter-Switch's extensive range of pushbutton switches is a new series of "tact" switches designed for surface mount applications.

Called the TSS xxx-1 Series, the switches incorporate a nonrotating actuator, allowing pick and place machines to handle the switch and guarantee its correct orientation.

Aimed at applications where reliability and long mechanical life are essential, the TSS 61 R-1, for example, offers a minimum 100,000 operation cycles and a operating force of 2.5N.

Additional operating forces (1.3 and 1.6N) are available.

The actuator travel is 0.25 +/-0.1mm.

Switching contacts are rated at 12V DC/50mA, and maximum contact resistance is 50mohm.

At -25 to +70C, the operating temperature range suits applications in the quality white goods and security systems industries.

The actuator itself and the mounting base are made from high temperature thermoplastic nylon to UL94V0, and the cover is SPCC nickel plated.

The terminals are silver plated brass and the contacts are silver plated phosphor bronze.

Height off the board is a maximum of 4.3mm and the switch body is 6mm square.

Knitter-Switch tact switches are available from stock and from a number of distributors throughout Europe.

Samples are usually available on next day delivery.
