Surface-mount pushbutton tact switch is 50% smaller than comparable products.

Knitter Switch, Europe's largest switch manufacturer, announces the introduction of the new TSS 309 surface-mount pushbutton tact switch At only 2.5mm high and with a space-saving footprint of 3.8 x 6.0mm the TSS 309 is 50% smaller than comparable products

Two actuator forces are available, 180 and 300g, and operational lifetime is better than 100,000 operations.

The TSS 309 may be soldered at 260C, is RoHS compliant and features contact ratings of 12V DC at 50mA, a maximum contact resistance of 100mohm and an operating temperature range of -40 to +85C.

For secure mounting and good electrical contact a 1.0mm wide single J-lead or gull wing terminal is provided to ensure maximum solder on the joint.

This also aids visual inspection of correct assembly on the PCB.

Terry Moss, General Sales Manager of Knitter Switch UK comments: "Our new TSS 309 tact pushbutton is a valuable addition to our range and we are confident that we offer a better quality product on a faster lead time than our competitors and at a very attractive price".

"There is a very large and growing market for ultracompact switches for mobile and portable equipment and we are pleased to be introducing a form, fit and function replacement for other manufacturers' products which are experiencing supply problems".

The new Knitter Switch TSS 309 is available from stock in 2500-piece tape and reel packaging direct from Knitter Switch or a number of distributors throughout Europe.

Samples are usually available on next day delivery.

Typical applications include key-fobs, automotive controls, personal electronic equipment, games consoles, instrumentation, remote controls and other handheld devices.
