Blue is the colour for illuminated pushbuttons
Lit by a blue LED, the latest addition to the Knitter-Switch range of miniature, illuminated pushbuttons extends the choice for design engineers beyond the existing red, green and yellow colours.
Because the switch incorporates a silicone dome, there is no audible click during operation but there is excellent tactile feedback.
This can be very useful in broadcast and medical environments.
The new switch has a body which measures 6 x 6mm with a height off the board of 5mm.
Designed to be lead-free reflow solderable at up to 260C, the use of J hooks saves further board space.
The operating temperature range is from -40 to +85C.
The switches have a mechanical life of at least 30000 cycles, contact ratings of 12V DC, 50mA and a low-contact resistance of 100mohm.
Applications include industrial front panels, home entertainment products, medical systems and automotive electronics.
