Kent Modular Electronics has designed a novel LCD (TFT) chassis monitor to replace 9in CRT monitors used in a variety of ticket machine, cash dispenser and instrumentation applications.
The 29LW081 series features a very high light output (1400cd/m2) making it suitable for use in high ambient light conditions and for good viewability in direct sunlight.
It is VGA/SVGA compatible (up to 800 x 600pixel resolution) and is immediately compatible with analogue video outputs from a PC or PLC).
The 8.4in monitor head is mounted on a flexible metal chassis which can be set to replicate the horizontal and vertical positions of the original CRT monitor which it is designed to replace.
It is also available without the CRT chassis metalwork as a stand-alone display module for new OEM applications Monitor setup controls are located at the rear of the head and there is provision to add a remote photosensor to dim the display as ambient light levels reduce (ie for night-time viewing a light output of 100cd/m2 is more than adequate).
This extends backlight life.
The monitor is powered from 12V DC, with provision for attachment of an autoranging 90-265V AC power supply to the rear of the chassis.
Touchscreens and privacy filters can be supplied as optional extras.
