The new CP605 provides multiple configuration options, facilitating its use in high-end, harsh environment, and/or cost sensitive applications.

Its 4HP design makes it ideal for space-minimised applications.

The 6U CP605 features the Intel Pentium 4 processor in a 478-pin package FC-PGA, and is available in either a high-performance version, operating at 2 to 3GHz; or a low-power-dissipation version, using the Mobile Pentium 4-M processor operating at 1.2 to 2GHz.

An on-die 512Kbyte full speed L2 cache facilitates maximum processor performance.

The new board can accommodate up to 1Gbyte soldered DDR SDRAM, and up to 2Gbyte total memory with the addition of DDR SODIMM modules.

Memory and graphics performance is optimised by the Intel 845G chipset, in addition to a 400 or 533MHz processor side bus.

The CP605 is designed to provide an extensive range of connectivity options, and to protect users' investment into the future.

In addition to two Gigabit Ethernet ports and a Fast Ethernet port, the new board provides five5 USB 2.0 ports (each with 40 times the bandwidth of the commonly used USB 1.1 interface).

The CP605 also supports the PICMG 2.16 packet switching backplane specification, and provides a 32bit, 33MHz PMC interface.

The new CP605 can be operated as either a system master or in passive mode (in a peripheral slot in a CompactPCI system).

Software support is provided for Windows 2000/XP Pro, Linux, VxWorks and QNX.

Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) is available as an option.

The CP605 is available immediately.
