The CP6010 is built around the proven Serverworks Grand Champion LE chipset, which features high-bandwidth interfaces to the memory (two DDR memory channels, for up to 8Gbyte of PC-2100 DDR registered SDRAM with ECC support) and the CPUs (a 400/533MHz front-side bus).
The CP6010's formidable array of integrated functionality, including dual Gigabit Ethernet support (copper or fibre), up to 8Gbyte of DDR SDRAM and dual PCI-X bus support at 64bit/133MHz (including PMC site), delivers industry leading performance for network infrastructure, telecommunications, medical and defence equipment manufacturers.
The 64bit/133MHz PCI-X PMC site is perfect for PMC expansion modules requiring high bandwidth connections to host systems, such as ATM, E3/T3 lines, OC xx, multichannel fibre and multichannel 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet.
Kontron's CP6010 is an ideal platform for telecommunications and network infrastructure equipment manufacturers who are looking to exploit the large amount of available bandwidth in converging networks by providing huge processing power with the capacity to drive multiple CompactPCI and PCI-X boards and devices.
CP6010s make possible the rapid deployment of high performance, high density, enhanced services platforms.
Target applications include VOIP (soft switch, media gateway), wireless infrastructure (basestation controller, billing) and datacomms (routing devices, server farms).
The dual Gigabit Ethernet (PICMG 2.16 compliant) interfaces and a PCI-X bridge to the CompactPCI bus are positioned on the first PCI-X bus; a PMC expansion slot (with PIM support) sits on the second PCI-X bus.
It is possible to drive a second CompactPCI segment by using a mezzanine with an additional bridge.
CP6010 boards have standard VGA and serial interfaces and three USB ports, which extend functionality and allow for easy and cost effective addition of peripheral attachments.
Software support is provided for Windows 2000/XP, Linux, FreeBSD and QNX users.
Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) support is available.
Prototypes of the CP6010 are available now.
