CompactPCI board upgrades to Core 2 Duo
Core 2 Duo processor based CompactPCI board meets the highest performance standards and manages data throughput with server quality.
Motherboard keeps power consumption low
With a combined thermal design power of less than 5W for the processor and chipset the Kontron KTUS15/mITX motherboard is suitable for solar/battery powered applications.
Embedded PC suits avionics applications
The Kontron MEC-PPC-AV1 modular embedded computer offers a large range of I/Os such as Ethernet, general purpose I/Os, serial lines and MIL-STD-1553 links.
Compared with Intel Pentium M, dual-core technology allows approximately twice the performance with similar power consumption.
The PICMG 2.16-compliant Kontron CP6012 is designed for bandwidth-intensive applications and, thanks to hot-swap support and IPMI (PICMG 2.9-compliant Intelligent Platform Management Interface) meets the highest demands for the management of high-availability applications.
Many of these are data and telecommunications applications, but also include highly sensitive, security-related solutions.
Thanks to the robust construction of these systems, they are also ideal for image processing systems in medical technology (tomographs) and other vertical industries.
Alternatively, the CP6012 is available with a 1.66GHz LV Intel Core Duo processor, or the 1.87GHz Intel Core Solo processor.
The CP6012 offers a high degree of integration and the latest interface technologies such as PCI Express, up to 4Gbyte/400MHz DDR2 SODIMM RAM (6.4Gbyte/s throughput) and a fast Serial-ATA interface including hard drive or CompactFlash slot onboard.
Four Gigabit Ethernet interfaces via PCI Express (two to the backplane/two front-side), up to USB 2.0 ports, a COM port, VGA, and rear I/O support round out the feature set.
There is room for customer-specific expansions on an XMC or alternative PMC slot for mezzanine cards.
The Kontron CP6012 offers sufficient graphics performance (VGA/CRT 1600 x 1200 pixel at 85Hz) thanks to the ATI ES1000.
Software support is offered for Linux (SuSE 9.3 or 10.0 and RedHat Enterprise 4.0), Windows XP, XP embedded, and Windows Server.
Kontron's CP6012 with Intel Core Duo or Core Solo processors will go into series production in July.
