CompactPCI platform claims record performance
The CP307 is a 3U high-performance CompactPCI CPU assembly based on the Intel Core Duo or Core Solo processor with the Intel 945GM Express chipset and ICH7-R Southbridge.
The Kontron CP307 is a 3U high-performance CompactPCI CPU assembly based on the Intel Core Duo T2500 (2GHz), Core Duo L2400 (1.6GHz) or Core Solo T1300 (1.6GHz) with the Intel 945GM Express chipset and ICH7-R Southbridge.
It offers record-breaking performance per watt for CompactPCI in 3U as the new dual-core technology that has almost twice the performance of the Intel Pentium M in the same layout, but only slightly higher power consumption.
PCI Express for high I/O bandwidths rounds out the CPU, which is streamlined for performance.
Designed with soldered processor and memory to handle the toughest environmental conditions, the Kontron CP307 can be used in industrial robots, vision systems, mobile data capture systems, or in aircraft, train or vessel applications, to name just a few.
The Kontron CP307 offers dazzling performance thanks to the Core Duo technology with 2GHz dual-core frequency, 667MHz front side bus, DDR2-SDRAM expandable up to 4Gbyte with a frequency of 533/667MHz, 10.6Gbit/s data throughput, and comprehensive communication interfaces: onboard are two Gigabit Ethernet channels, up to six USB 2.0 ports, two SATA interfaces, and a CompactFlash slot for storage media up to 8Gbyte.
The graphics accelerator integrated into the Mobile Intel 945GM Express provides excellent 2D, 3D, and video features for VGA and DVI, with dual operation possible.
The CPU board is available as single slot (4HP) or dual slot (8HP).
In the 8HP version, Kontron's CP307 offers additional legacy support, LPC, COM, DVI and 2.5in SATA carriers.
It also supports rear I/O assemblies, which makes customer-specific designs for the system very flexible.
Kontron also provides a version of the CP307 in extended temperature range with a specific processor on request.
Board support packages are offered for Windows XP, XP Embedded, Linux and VxWorks.
Samples of the Kontron CP307 with a 2GHz Intel Core Duo processor will be available from Q2 2006.
Serial production will begin in Q3 2006.
