Kontron stars in Intel alliance

At the 2006 Intel Communications Alliance Congress in Arizona, USA, Kontron was honoured as the ICA Member of the Year 2006.

At the 2006 Intel Communications Alliance Congress in Arizona, USA, Kontron was honoured as the ICA Member of the Year 2006.

The Intel Communications Alliance is Intel's partner programme for embedded computer manufacturers, in particular in the telecommunications sector.

Worldwide, the alliance has more than 200 members, four of them holding premier status.

Intel selected Kontron as its highest valued embedded industry partner for fiscal year 2006.

The citation of merit is based on the outstanding growth, technology leadership and innovative power Kontron has attained within the embedded computer industry.

"It is a great honour to be named ICA Member of the Year", says Hannes Niederhauser, Chief Executive Officer of Kontron.

"This award underscores the leading role we play in the embedded industry and the importance of alliance with Intel for innovative technologies of the future".

"Thanks to the strategic ICA partnership, Kontron has access to Intel's future innovations before they are actually released", explained Niederhauser.

Enormous progress has also been made thanks to the definition of new standards, which are now also being pursued by other embedded computer firms".

Beyond the product and technology alignment, Kontron has also excels in working with Intel on comarketing, coselling and cobranding throughout the embedded industry.

In example, Intel also named Kontron's whitepaper "Dual-core challenge" as one of the best whitepapers demonstrating Intel dual-core processors in a transcoding environment.
