For performance-hungry applications, the Kontron PCI-760 boosts power to four 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Quad processors.

The Kontron PCI-760 PICMG 1.3 system host board (SHB) combines the latest Intel Q35 GMCH embedded chipset and LGA-775 socket-based Intel processors The board is equipped with multicore Intel Core 2 Duo processors up to 3.0GHz (E6850) and provides outstanding server performance combined with advanced remote management features based on Intel's AMT 3.0 technology

For performance-hungry applications, the Kontron PCI-760 boosts power to four 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Quad processors (Q6700) - an impressive level of performance that is ideal for asynchronous real-time embedded multiprocessing applications.

The Kontron PCI-760 is also designed to cater for the inclusion of next-generation 45nm processors - a feature that will extend availability for long-life applications.

The Kontron PCI-760 is a perfect fit for applications such as industrial test and measurement with simultaneous data collection and evaluation, parallel processing of several video and/or audio streams, control and visualisation of imaging technologies in medical and industrial applications as well as for the broad field of simulation technology.

The Kontron PCI-760 is equipped with Intel's built-in, comprehensive Intel AMT 3.0 remote management engine and is one of the first embedded boards to implement this technology, offering enhanced security, remote manageability and cost savings for the embedded computing market.

System managers of densely packed, space-saving servers - like the Kontron Industrial Silent Server - benefit from Intel AMT 3.0 because they can remotely carry out tasks such as installation of a new OS or setting BIOS parameters without the need for additional remote management hardware or an on-site presence.

If there is an operating system failure, the Kontron PCI-760 allows the system manager to run diagnostics, update patches and reboot the system via the network from a central service system within a few minutes.

The Kontron PCI-760 provides state-of-the-art system security as it supports the Intel Trusted Execution Technology and has an onboard trusted platform module - TPM 1.2 - for software and data protection.

The Kontron PCI-760 supports up to 8Gbyte of fast DDR2 SDRAM and features a full range of interfaces: PEG, four PCIe x1 and PCI routed to the backplane, six 300Mbit/s SATA II (two via backplane) and RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 functionality, three 10/100/1000 base-T Ethernet (one via backplane), 12 USB 2.0 (four via backplane), one parallel and two serial interfaces (16550 UART-compatible) and 7.1+2-channel HD-audio codecs (including digital input and output).

Additional interfaces can be implemented via a mini-PCI Type IIIA connector.

Kontron offers additional assemblies for LAN, WLAN and SCSI.

If high-end PEG graphics are not needed, the integrated Intel GMA 3100 Graphics Media Accelerator supports DirectX 9.0c for full Windows Vista Aero compliance and resolutions of up to QXGA (2048 x 1536) at 75Hz via a VGA connector on the bracket.

Furthermore, an optional onboard rugged USB Intel Z-U130 flash module with a capacity of up to 8Gbyte and a MTBF of 5Mh makes it possible to build up maintenance-free systems without rotating nonvolatile memory.

The Kontron PCI-760 will be available for purchase in January 2008 with Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Linux software packages.

Additional operating systems are possible on a project basis.
